I dinna ken hou monie o ye haes been watchin the fitbaw frae Austrick an Swisserland ower the hinmaist week or twa, but I maun say - sum o it's been pretty guid. Whan ye see hou kintras like Romania, Swaden an Turkey, ye canna hulp but feel a wee bit scunnered that Scotland's no there...again. I cam across the sports pages frae the day efter the hame gemme agin Italy, an boy did it mak fer sum brutal readin. Fer aw the heichs o the campaign (an they's weil enou kent tae no need statit here), the muckle dunt tae the kintra's wame that wis thon last minute free-kick an goal wull aye byde in the mind as anithir o thae "sae-near-an-yet-sae-faur" moments that we's sae uissit tae. The rale consolation, o course, o course bein that no like Euro 96 (whan we needit tae pit twa past Swisserland an cuid ainlie get ane) an ithir ensamples I'm shair ye can aw mind yersles, we werna undone by a team we ralley ocht tae hae gied a daein tae.
Ach weil, it's ainlie a gemme, an gin onie o ye need cheerin up, this video ne'er fails tae dae it fer me. It's in Norrowegian, but I dout the feck o ye ken fine weil whit's gaein on nae bother- http://youtube.com/watch?v=PqZTP8-8wIs
Spaekin o Norrowegian, the Lumsk album I ordered about thrie week syne cam in the day. Braw's no the hauf o't! The album's cried ''Troll'' an is a guid mixtur-maxtur o tradeitional fowk an slawish doomy metal, wi the leirics taen frae Norrowegian fowklair. It maks a nice chynge frae sae cried "Viking" metal baunds bangin on an on anent Thor an the gang aw the time as tho Norse cultur haes naething else tae lilt about. It's no sae heivy as thier first album, sae non metal-heids micht fin it warth a listen. The haill thing's in Norrowegian, sae there's aye the auld gemme o "Spot the Cognate" tae play an aw.
Sang o the week - "Dunker" frae the album abuin. As a wee thocht, is it no orra jist hou glaikit fowk in fowk-tales can be? Whit wey maun they aye be lattin on their names whan they ken richt weil this'll dae thaim skaith? Aiblins trowes, gyans an the lave is needin tae lay aff the mead.
God bless - an be back fer mair blethers neist week.
