River City’s Scarlett wants to write Scots
Popular River City character, Scarlett Adams, has told small screen friend, university professor Michael Learmonth, that she’d like to learn to write in her own dialect. Scarlett has only recently learned to write in English and wants to use her new found skill to write in Glasgow dialect.
Learmonth has told Scarlett that it should be possible to learn how to write in dialect and gave the work of esteemed playwrite, Liz Lochhead, as an example of what others have done with the language.
