Launch of 'Nae Bad Ava!'
The Reading Bus, in conjunction with Aberdeenshire Council and Talisman Energy, has produced another anthology of poems in North East Scots, entitled ‘Nae Bad Ava!’. This comes a year on from the success of the previous book ‘Fit Like, Yer Majesty?’ which sold 10,000 copies worldwide. This lastest book contains 44 poems by writers aged 8 to 92 which have been selected by an editorial committee comprising Bill Burnett, Sheena Blackhall and Les Wheeler. Well known artist Bob Dewar has produced illustrations to go along with the text.
The book will be launched at 12 noon on Thursday 14 May 2009 at King’s College Conference Centre, University of Aberdeen, as part of the Word 09 Festival. This will be followed by a buffet lunch at 1pm and then a Choice of Reading Bus Activities to conclude at 2pm.
If you would like to learn more, or purchase a copy of the book, please contact the Reading Bus Depot at Kittybrewster School in Aberdeen either by e-mail at doric@aberdeen-education.org.uk or by phone 01224 524007.
