Dundonian Tea-Towel is just the thing
A tea towel with various phrases in Dundonian - the local dialect of Scots - has gone on sale and is proving very popular, the Evening Telegraph and Post reported this week. The 'Dundonian Dialect Cloot' went on sale at various outlets in Dundee during 2008 and has been selling very well among both Dundonians and tourists. There are 34 phrases altogether, such as 'Whit a fairdeegowk (what a timid person) or the more common Scots 'Ye'll get yer jotters (you'll be fired), which end with the well known 'Jings Crivvens Help ma boab!'. Sales certainly prove the affection with which Scots is still held in Dundee today.
